Something Is Brewing In Ft. Worth

Ft Worth, Texas has it's own flavor. As much as it is paired with it's counterpart, Dallas, Ft. Worth definitely has a flow and DNA of it's own. So I was excited to take to the streets of this western city for brunch greatness.

Welcome to Brewed

In the midst of local stores and brick-lined streets lies Brewed. While it's exterior looks very modern and rigid, with it's clean and straight lines, the interior reveals much personality. What if your living room was turned into a brunch spot? Times 10? That's what this feels like. Nooks and crannies reveal all types of seating, from comfortable sofas to bistro seats. You could host a party in one area and not even know they are there, just around the corner. It's kitschy and eclectic. I'm a fan.

Chicken & Waffles

Chicken & Waffles is a huge Southern staple so I took it upon myself to try this dish. I'm personally 50/50 on this one. The waffle was soft on the inside, firm on the outside. It soaked up the syrup in its pockets just lovely. The chicken, on the other hand, was a tad bit over cooked. You could tell that the flavor was there--but it lost it's bang with the overly done chicken.

The enchanting Pear Kombucha Mimosa

While I was there, I also partook in one of their signature drinks: Pear Kombucha Mimosa. Kombucha is a fermented tea beverage that's filled with antioxidants and minerals, packing it with many health benefits. Add that to champagne and pear juice and you have a winner, ladies and gentlemen. Probably one of the best brunch beverages I've ever had.

Brunchlust Rating: B I loved the interior and staff of this location. The food was good but not the homerun I was looking for. However, it doesn't sway me from coming back and trying again. Also, much props for one of the earliest brunches you can get, with a 9 AM opening time!
