This week, we took our lust for brunch to The Windy City. And there probably isn’t a restaurant in Chicago more fitting for a Brunchlust review than Brunch.
That’s right. The name of the restaurant is simply Brunch. No ifs, ands or buts about it, you know what you’re in store for here. No waiting for the weekends. You can have Brunch seven days a week!
We stopped in on Thursday and had a fantastic meal and drinks. Located on the Near North Side in downtown Chicago, the space is an open loftlike area. No uniform plates or coffee mugs here either. Each table has its own eclectic look.
We started off with the Chicken and Waffle Bites. The chicken inside was moist and well-seasoned. Totally loved these.
I opted for the Build Your Own Omelet with the house chicken apple sausage. If you know anything about Chicago, you know we know our way around good sausage. This did not disappoint. It was served with breakfast potatoes and toast. The potatoes were seasoned very well and had the right balance of crispiness to them.
Other things that made it to our table: BYO Burger, a BYO Skillet and a kids order of red velvet pancakes.
Oh yeah. And poinsettias. Because brunch without booze is just a sad breakfast. Brunch has a full bar so if champagne isn't your thing, you've got options. No drink specials here either so be ready to drop some coins if you want to imbibe.
Brunchlust Rating: A I highly recommend Brunch. Service was great. Before you go, be sure to check the hours before you go, as Brunch is only open until late afternoon. And parking can be a little bit of a nightmare. It’s downtown Chicago, so that’s to be expected.
