Harwood District DJ Brunch Series Gets Jazzy at Happiest Hour

Harwood District’s DJ Brunch Series took Brunchlust to one of the best patios in Dallas for one of our favorite combinations, brunch and music!

Every Saturday for a limited time, Harwood District’s DJ Brunch Series rotates between participating locations in the neighborhood while pairing brunch and bubbly with beats from some of Dallas’ best DJs. For this week’s session, a jazz saxophonist accompanied the DJ’s selections.

Each restaurant has their own spin on the event. And at Happiest Hour, you stop by the main bar downstairs and pay $20 for access to the upstairs patio and brunch buffet. Selections included brunch favorites like biscuits and gravy, hash browns and bacon. The standout favorite was the brisket chilaquiles, topped with a chipotle sour cream. There weren’t a ton of choices offered but the food was unlimited, so if you did find something you like, you could fill up on it.

I found it kind of weird that appetizer sized small plates were offered for use at the buffet. Not exactly the right size when you have a buffet.

On to the cocktails. Happiest Hour doesn’t offer brunch cocktail specials. But frosé? Yes, way. Their offering here is a little sweeter than I would like but it’s perfect for sipping on the Happiest Hour’s spectacular patio.

Service was a little spotty, but I’ve definitely had worse.

Brunchlust Rating: B I would come back to Happiest Hour but I would probably skip the buffet and go for the regular menu.
